Depart from Cochin Airport to Athirappilly. En route to Athirappilly visit Njandamakuth, Athirapally, Charpa and Vazhrachal waterfalls. If time permits also visit the Thumboormuzhi Butterfly Park. Check into the hotel and overnight stay at Athirapally close to the backwaters.
After Breakfast Depart from Athirappilliy to Kozhikode (Drive 5 hrs). After Reaching Kozhikode Check into your resort and freshen up. After having breakfast at the hotel, set out for a journey to Wayanad. Enroute visit Thusharagiri Falls, Lakkidi view point and Pookode Lake. Two streams originating from the Western Ghats meet here to form the Chalippuzha River. The river diverges into three waterfalls creating a snowy spray, which gives the name, 'Thusharagiri' a word which means the snow-capped mountain. Lakkidi is a city located in the southern part of India in the state of Kerala and is considered as the gateway to Wayanad district. The city is popular for mountain peaks, dense forest covers and streams surrounding the region. Pookotu Lake is Surrounded by densely forested hills and enchants you with its sheer natural splendour. You could simply sit on the banks and continue being mesmerized or hire a boat and get rowing in the lake through a maze of dazzling blue water lilies. Lunch at your own. After Breakfast head out for local sightseeing. Start the day by heading to the Muthanga wildlife sanctuary. Muthanga wild life sanctuary also known as waynad national park , located 16 KM east of sulthan batheri. The sanctuary is Rich in bio-diversity and it is an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Later Head to the Edakkal Caves. The Edakkal Cave is 96ft long, 22ft wide and 30ft high cleft formed by the vertical split of a rocky mountain. The rock wall is etched with carvings depicting human and animal figures and objects of human use. These carvings speak of a highly civilized people of pre-historic age, and have drawn the serious attention of archaeologists and historians worldwide. Then Head towards kuruva Islands. Kuruva dweep consists of a set of islands inside Kabini river. Nearly 1000 acres of dense ever green forest, no human habitation and a possibility of spotting rare birds, herbs and flowers. Kabini bifurcates here to form one major island and when water level is low, some more minor islands emerge around this one. Head back to your resort and overnight stay
